Land Info:

  • Prime Farmland (SSURGO Database)

  • Directly behind SEVERAL HOMES on Brimfield and Arrowhead.

Timeline:

  • 2025: Finlo solar met privately with members of the Kirkland Planning Board, being careful not to trigger the Public Meetings Law requirements. Finlow targeting November-December for a “Pre-Application Submission Meeting” with the Planning Board

  • Spring 2026: Finlow application is underway and Finlow is in communication with affected neighbors. Major concerns with the water well easement and significant tree removal.

Concerns:

  • Project directly conflicts with Town of Kirkland Comprehensive Land Use Plan survey results, makes mockery of Town of Kirkland Solar Ordinance commitment “To mitigate the impacts of Solar Energy Systems on environmental resources such as important agricultural lands”

  • Residential wells are located underneath the project area

  • Significant tree removal required

  • On-site battery storage component

  • Wetland impacts

  • Direct impact to Brimfield, Arrowhead, Cleary and Kellogg residents & home values

  • Impact to Mud Creek

  • Loss of prime farmland

  • Stormwater pollution (MS4 designation)

  • Fence will disturb and reroute wildlife

  • Fire Department not equipped to handle solar farm fire. Land would become hazardous.
